Agent frameworks
Superpowers
A host-portable skills methodology that makes spec approval, TDD, subagent execution and independent review mandatory stages rather than optional prompts.
Overview
Research summary
Superpowers is a composable skills-based development process rather than another coding model or IDE. It begins by refining intent through structured brainstorming and requires explicit design approval before implementation; it then creates a detailed plan, uses isolated worktrees when appropriate, dispatches implementation to fresh subagents or controlled batches, enforces red/green TDD, reviews for both spec compliance and code quality, and verifies the branch before finishing. Skills automatically trigger in supported hosts including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, Grok Build, Kimi Code, OpenCode, Pi and others.
Recent releases explicitly carry spec pointers into plans so implementation conflicts are resolved against the approved design. The project is MIT-licensed.
