Research summary
Strands Agents supplies an in-process agent loop and supporting components for building AI applications. Developers choose models and tools, then configure execution controls, streaming, sessions and multi-agent patterns around them. The current repository contains Python and TypeScript SDKs alongside harness packages and a command-line interface.
It can be used with multiple model providers and deployment environments rather than requiring a hosted Strands control plane. The earlier sdk-python repository now redirects to harness-sdk. The reviewed repository declares Apache 2.0 licensing, independently of model-provider or cloud-service terms.
