Agent frameworks

Rig

Rust-native provider and retrieval abstractions separated from optional agent runtime and integration crates.

Overview

Research summary

Rig provides Rust building blocks for applications that combine language models, tool execution, and retrieval. Provider-neutral interfaces cover completion, embeddings, messages, and vector stores, while companion crates supply agent orchestration and integrations. Its agent runtime supports multi-turn prompting and streaming, with hooks and execution state that hosts can inspect.

Additional packages connect storage backends and expose memory policies; recording and replay are available through an optional cassette layer. The project separates these components so applications can use the shared model contracts without adopting every orchestration feature.
