Overview
Research summary
Redis stores key-value data and richer structures and provides search capabilities over documents and vectors. AI applications can use it for semantic caching, retrieval and the storage required by memory frameworks. These are infrastructure primitives: Redis does not by itself decide which conversational facts an agent should remember. Redis 8 and later offer AGPLv3, SSPLv1 or RSALv2 licensing options for the core; earlier releases have different terms. Optional proprietary optimizations and Redis commercial services require separate consideration and are not implied by the AGPL option.
