Overview
Research summary
Pydantic AI is an MIT-licensed Python framework for building typed agent applications using the Pydantic ecosystem. It treats model inputs, outputs, dependencies and tools as ordinary typed application interfaces, allowing validation and structured data handling to remain part of the program rather than being delegated to prompt conventions. The framework supports multiple model providers and includes agent execution, tool calling, structured outputs, streaming, testing and evaluation-oriented facilities.
Its graph package provides explicit workflow primitives for cases where a single agent loop is not enough. Pydantic AI is particularly relevant to teams that want agent code to follow conventional Python engineering practices: dependency injection, type checking, validation and testability are central design concerns. The repository is open source under MIT.
External model providers, tracing services and deployment infrastructure remain independently configured and licensed.
