OpenLLMetry

Reusable AI instrumentation that fits existing OpenTelemetry pipelines and backend choices.

Overview

Research summary

OpenLLMetry is a collection of OpenTelemetry extensions for language-model applications. It instruments supported model-provider clients, vector databases, and other AI components, and supplies a Traceloop SDK to simplify initial setup. Applications that already use OpenTelemetry can also adopt individual instrumentations directly. The resulting telemetry can be sent to compatible backends, including an existing monitoring stack, rather than requiring one dedicated dashboard. This entry covers the Apache-2.0 Python project; related language implementations and Traceloop hosted services have separate distribution scopes.
