Observability & evaluation

OpenLIT

OpenTelemetry-native tracing connected to evaluation, runtime guardrails, and infrastructure-cost visibility.

Overview

Research summary

OpenLIT is a self-hostable platform for observing and improving the software around AI agents. Its SDKs instrument supported model providers, tools, frameworks, and infrastructure, emitting OpenTelemetry traces and metrics. The platform combines those records with evaluation, guardrails, prompt management, and cost or GPU monitoring. Developers can use the results to investigate a failed run and compare changes to the agent configuration. The Apache-2.0 repository contains the application and instrumentation components; it is not limited to a hosted-service client.
