Data & context

Neo4j

Explicit graph relationships and traversal alongside semantic retrieval for connected context.

Overview

Research summary

Neo4j stores entities and relationships as a graph and exposes them through Cypher queries. AI applications can use graph traversal to add connected context to retrieved information and combine it with vector similarity search through supported semantic indexes. The database is a storage and query engine, not a complete RAG pipeline or agent-memory policy. This entry represents the GPLv3 Community Edition source repository. Enterprise capabilities and Neo4j Aura managed services are separate commercial offerings with different licensing and deployment terms.
