Research summary

Minion Code packages the Minion framework into a coding-oriented agent with predefined prompts and development tools. Its built-in tool groups cover file reading and writing, glob and text search, directory listing, shell and Python execution, web retrieval, user input, and task tracking. Additional tools can be loaded from MCP configuration files, including per-tool auto-approval settings.

The mcode CLI accepts a working directory and model selection, stores a default model in user configuration, and retains conversation history through the underlying framework. An ACP stdio mode integrates with compatible clients and asks users to allow once, always allow, or reject tool calls; a dangerous option bypasses these prompts. The same agent can also be instantiated from Python with a custom system prompt, work directory, model, and additional tools.

Minion Code is therefore a configured application of Minion rather than a wholly independent runtime. Its repository is AGPL-3.0 and depends on the separately maintained minion or minionx package, whose configuration and provider support must be considered independently.
