LlamaIndex Workflows

Typed events coordinate asynchronous Python steps without requiring a predefined DAG or the full LlamaIndex stack.

Overview

Research summary

LlamaIndex Workflows is an independently installable Python library for coordinating application steps through typed events. Async functions consume and emit events, allowing workflows to branch, repeat work, run steps concurrently and include human input. The llama-index-workflows package is now maintained in the LlamaAgents repository alongside server, client and deployment tools.

It remains a useful separate catalogue entry because developers can use the workflow package without adopting the complete LlamaIndex retrieval framework. The package and repository use the MIT license; external model and document-processing services retain their own terms.
