Agent frameworks

LiveKit Agents

Conversational agent sessions integrated with LiveKit's real-time media transport and provider ecosystem.

Overview

Research summary

LiveKit Agents turns server-side Python programs into participants in real-time audio and video sessions. It integrates speech recognition, language models, speech synthesis and realtime model APIs, with session management, interruption handling and tooling for building conversational agents. The repository provides examples and integrations, while the separate LiveKit server supplies the underlying media infrastructure.

Developers can combine providers and connect agents to application clients instead of building the streaming stack themselves. Framework code is Apache-2.0. LiveKit's distributed turn-detection models use a separate license restricting their use to the LiveKit Agents framework.
