Overview

Research summary

Herdr runs a background server that owns the terminals used by coding agents, so the client can detach without stopping their work. It tracks panes as working, blocked or idle, restores layouts and supported sessions after reconnects, and combines local and saved SSH machines in one view. A CLI and socket API let agents create panes, send prompts and wait on other agents without wrapping or replacing Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode or other terminal agents.
