Research summary

DimCode is distributed as a terminal agent with an interactive TUI and exec mode for one-off prompts, scripts, and automation. The interface exposes conversation, reasoning, tool output, context usage, a session timeline, image paste, skills, plugins, MCP management, and switches between agent and plan modes. Users can connect and switch providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or a custom endpoint, including a local model endpoint.

Runtime prompts request approval for commands or file access and can pause for clarification. Configuration is stored under ~/.dimcode; the package documentation states that session messages and state use a local SQLite database and are not uploaded as session data. Distribution uses an npm wrapper that selects a platform-specific binary for supported macOS, Linux, and Windows targets.

The npm metadata declares no license while its README refers to a repository-root license that is not present in the tracker, so the catalog's proprietary classification and Not public implementation language should remain.
